Meet Robin LaMonte

Robin studied interior design and psychology  at the University of Wisconsin but left college to become a flight attendant for a major airline.
She began her design business in 2002  and went back to school to finish her  interior design degree.
She knows many consumers have no idea that there are designers with college degrees, but she gives the added value of being an interior designer with college credentials versus a decorator who has none.
The advantage of hiring a designer with an education in interior design is that Robin wears two hats . She can "decorate" a room with colors, fabrics, and furnishings. When Robin "designs" a room,
she takes it further with the technical skills of constructing a room she has learned through education and experience.

Robin is a very proud member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers ). ASID requires an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design before a designer is allowed to join. ASID takes college education very seriously.
She serves as the Chair on the Student Affairs Committee this year and also is on the Marketing and Trade Show committees in her New Jersey chapter.

In the spring of 2012, Robin, her team of interior design students from five New Jersey colleges, along with members of her student affairs committee will decorate a room for the Mansion in May Showhouse. This spring the Showhouse is the Dupont castle, Glynallen located in Morristown, New Jersey. The show house is a fund raising event for the Morristown Memorial Hospital.

She donates her time to local charities and decorates for events in her area.
She, along with other local designers,  decorated the USGA museum in Far Hills, New Jersey for the holidays in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
In 2011 she donated her time decorating the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, New Jersey with two other ASID interior designers.
She has donated her time to a nationally recognized cancer hospital for a home makeover for a cancer survivor.
